US aid centers in Gaza accused of attempting to dismantle UNRWA

Palestinian resistance groups say the real aim behind the US aid distribution centers in Gaza is to dismantle the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, and destroy the Palestinian cause.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Palestinian resistance groups argue that the true objective behind US aid distribution centers in Gaza is to dismantle the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) and destroy the Palestinian cause.

In a statement, the groups emphasized that the US aid centers aim to shift the Palestinian issue from a political struggle to a humanitarian matter, weakening international support for their cause.

They warned that these efforts are intended to accelerate forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, and the evacuation of Gaza’s residents as part of broader US-backed plans.

The resistance groups urged pressure on the Israeli regime and the US government to resume aid distribution through internationally recognized UN-affiliated organizations, particularly UNRWA.

They stressed that UNRWA remains the only agency capable of effectively delivering aid to Palestinians in Gaza due to its legal mandate and operational expertise.

Israeli forces launched an attack early Monday on the Madleen ship, a humanitarian aid vessel attempting to break Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza as it neared the coastal waters of the besieged Palestinian territory.

Thiago Avila, a Brazilian activist aboard the Madleen, reported that Israeli military ships had surrounded them, restricting their movement.

The incident followed a warning from the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, which had cautioned Israel against obstructing the Madleen ship and held the Israeli regime fully responsible for the lives of activists onboard.

UN agencies and humanitarian organizations have warned that Gaza faces an imminent famine if more aid is not delivered. They point to Israeli restrictions, instability, and rampant looting as major obstacles preventing relief from reaching the nearly two million Palestinians living there.

In April, UNRWA stated on its official X account that no aid had entered Gaza since Israel imposed a total ban on humanitarian deliveries on March 2. The agency warned that the severe shortages of food, clean water, shelter, and medical supplies threaten the survival of displaced residents.
